I always thought it was for "blue," myself. Though "bad" fits more with the Japanese name of Washi.

It looks weird, but not necessarily bad. if the glasses were black, it would look more like the official art.

For extra authenticity, Boshi's arms should probably be orange like how Yoshi's are in the OG SMW (even though they're clearly green in official art and elsewhere)
