Whenever I make face sprites, I like to not reference or 'repeat' the overworld sprite, so the concept art gave me some inspiration to make a more detailed and human-looking design. Each character's face sprite is generally a far cry from their overworld sprite, especially in terms of hair and shape.
I'd say this is the best one in the update.
