Labyrinth Zone feels odd to me here. The water fading to the abyss gives me kind of liminal space-type vibe. |

Feb 13, 2022, 5:59 PM | Random Talking Bush | Game: Nintendo Wars Customs |
@Zeoinx: Not necessarily! While the Advance Wars games were the first ones that ended up being translated and released worldwide (which is what most of us are familiar with), this series goes way back to the Famicom (where it was called, naturally, Famicom Wars) and Game Boy (as Game Boy Wars) days, and by extent the Battalion Wars games are also considered part of the same series in Japan as well. So because of the inconsistent series naming, most of the fanbase considers "Nintendo Wars" to be the accepted series title in general. Or just "Wars", but that's kinda plain in comparison. |

Isnt this series called "Advanced Wars" Not Nintendo Wars? |
Feb 13, 2022, 4:55 PM | BlueYSusAmigosYT | Sheet: Reanim |
ah yes, how to do this: step 1: download main.pak patcherer step 2: grab reanim folder and turn it into a zip with winRAR or something. step 3: grab a random image from the folder and crop it to the icon resolution. Done! now you are the laziest person on TSR! (is this considered spam??) |

Feb 13, 2022, 12:11 PM | Ultramaster201 | Game: Mario Bros. (Ocean) |
There are two versions of this game on the Commodore 64. One was an unreleased prototype version by Atarisoft. The other, shown here, was by Ocean Software. This version, unlike Atarisoft's Mario Bros, did get released. However the controls in the Ocean version is very, very different than any other version of the arcade classic. Once you start moving, the only way to stop walking or running (depending on how long you hold the joystick left or right) is to press the joystick in the opposite direction. On the other hand, Atarisoft's version plays more like the arcade game. |

Ripped this game by mistake (instead of going for Super Slap Shot or continuing Super Off Road) but turned out to be a good thing in this case. Also interesting to see a game with both Mode 7 and an attempt at 3D (regarding the wall barrier similar to Kawasaki Superbikes and F1 World Championship on the Mega Drive), usually it is one or the other. Surprised that this wasn't released in the US due to the IndyCar theme. |

Feb 12, 2022, 11:52 AM | Yawackhary | Sheet: Game Over Screen |
@Rainbow Question Mark Not exactly true... The GBA can handle 3D as evident by the various games and demos as well as a cancelled racing game by Shin'en that used polygons however it would have to be done in software (like how the Genesis, Amiga and the ZX Spectrum handled 3D), yet you're right as it that it doesn't have native support. Also there were reports that Nintendo didn't have a SNES emulator ready at the time (why Metroid Prime was going to have Super Metroid yet only had the original, Super Punch Out was an effort by EA), so they had assets to the original and recreated them with the possibility of still having the source code for reference (or actually playing the game on a Super Famicom). They could have used SNESGT though as it would have been the only Japanese native emulator but not sure whether it had SuperFX2 support back in 2002. |

Feb 11, 2022, 8:22 PM | Rainbow Question Mark | Sheet: Game Over Screen |
The GBA couldn't handle 3D polygons so the SMA devs had to screenshot the game over animation frame-by-frame from the original SNES version of this game |
