It's similar but technically different to streamed music that pops up in Atari ST (After Burner and sounds good for early 1989 even if the song is cheesy, Cannon Fodder, Quik & Silva sounding good, Starglider one of the earliest and only 17 seconds long, Starglider 2, Stormlord, The Killing Game Show, Turrican, Turrican 2 with that being over 6 minutes long and sounds pretty good, Xenon 2 but massively cut back in length compared to the Amiga, those being the ones that I can think of) and even Amstrad CPC (Crazy Cars 2, Xyphoes Fantasy). For both, it takes up too much memory to be used in game and reserved for title screens. The rest of the game uses the GEMS sound engine and yeah... a big downgrade. Still decent/good for GEMS standards though. |
