| May 29, 2016 11:46 AM | RocketPunch | Game: Project X Zone 2 | If you're willing to go out of your way to invest in a modded PS2 and getting an import copy (and work with a translation patch if you want), there's always Namco X Capcom, which has Klonoa characters in it as well as Kurino Sandra from the Valkyrie series, if that's any consolation. Probably not much of one, but couldn't hurt to mention it... assuming you've not yet played it, of course. My only major beef with the roster was that Tales of Vesperia characters returned for it (who I didn't really care for much), but I can live with that since I don't have to have them on the battlefield at all times. And that Lucina's theme is too loud--could've done without the chorus yelling full blast. Also, for the record: I don't think the whole point of the X Zone games are about "humans are the absolute good" rather than it is "we gotta save all time/space, oh and the worlds too". There's no species bias going on in these games. It's just another vanilla story of good vs. evil. That's all there is to it. |

I mean, not everyone, but some will. My problem is how it feels today's media is shoving this idea that humans are the absolute good and all other life is scum. If a game comes off that way, I generally have a hard time enjoying it regardless of gameplay. Unfortunately, Project X Zone 1 and 2 come off as "humans are the absolute good" type games, which may not break the game for most, but it does for me. I know it sounds stupid, but that's my honest opinion. Another big problem I have is that not only is every character human, but they all have the same anatomy except for that cartoony kid. Even the less human humans like Felicia and Morrigan don't appeal to me. Yet there are several villains I like more than the entire goodguy roster. Games where I like the villains more than the heroes are another huge turnoff for me, and the first game was even worse with villains that I liked more than the heroes. If they had even one non-human playable, that would be enough for me to enjoy the game. I'm not a huge Sonic fan, and even he would be a good enough addition for me. One more thing: Games with goodguy non-humans are rare nowadays, which makes it even worse for someone like me. |

Considering 240x160 is the native resolution for the Game Boy Advance, I'm wondering if this might be a rip from the GBA version of the game. I'll check shortly. EDIT:Yep it's definitely from the GBA version. Moved to the correct game! |

HOWEVER, using them for a commercial product would get you sued and arrested by the company that owns these sprites. The closest you can get to using these commercially is by using the sprite as a REFERENCE for your own. |
