When I was making the animation in 8-bit, I found a round head quite uninteresting, so I thought about adding hair to make the sprite appear more full. That's why I added hair.

Mario		 Hmm, guess I haven't played fangames in a long time, back when I did, it was always SMW sprites, Superstar Saga sprites, or bad vectors, hence my disliking of the first two's graphics. I remember there being ONE game that used SMAS SMB1 sprites, and that was basically all the variation.

Go into Paint, left click whatever color you want to replace, cut the whole sheet, paint bucket down the color you want to replace it with, paste it back in, rinse and repeat. It's not too hard. Unless you have a Mac and therefore don't have Paint, in which case you deserve it to be hard.

Sonic the Hedgehog		 The change that I noticed is that he removed the unused Sonic 1 sprites, minus the background being changed and the sprites being organized.
