To me at least it looks like something outside of the art style of this game, sorta more like an arcade game at the time. The only thing I'd say that actually DOES remind me of Sonic is the star background. Probably because of the colors. |

@Sonicfan Yes it was, though it was the victim of a Dolled-Up Installment of sorts when it get released in Germany- all the main characters' sprites were changed as well as some of the minor supporting characters. It's marked as a (PAL) game on the Sounds Resource, so I used that mark for the Spriters' Resource entry. |

@SonicStorm478 As far as I've been able to find, smallpryv, the actual ripper, isn't involved with Mother 4, but rather another fangame called Earthbound Rhapsody. Could be that they used to be an artist for 4 though, hence how they had access to these, but I haven't found any confirmation so far. |

According to TCRF, there is actually an unused debug mode in this game that allows you to view all characters' sprites, but you have to edit part of the game's coding to get it to show up. |

@SonicStorm478: It was actually known about since at least 2015, but yeah, two prototypes for this game were recovered and dumped as of last month. |
