@SpritZ A political/human rights issue was brought up on a sprite website, and some people felt like this shouldn't be discussed on a sprite website. Nobody could have a civil disagreement for whatever reason. |

Contrary to popular belief, Ossan is not actually a different character from Mario. “Ossan” was yet another alternative name used internally for Mario (along with “Jumpman” and “Mr. Video”) before they gave him his *official* name. And I know someone’s gonna bring up Captain Rainbow, so I’ll just say his appearance is mario in an alternate, more out-of-shape form and leave it at that. |

It has effectively become a twitter thread, complete loss of control full of angry users, divided. That is NOT what a community is about! Do you people know how bloated the police spending is? An insane amount of money, which would've ended hunger twice over! The reason because crime is high is due to inaction from our government, choosing to arm our police force to the teeth, than attempt to deescalate the situation with the whole bullshit "predator and prey" teachings at the police academy! |

I'm appreciative of the fact this post contains more than a caret. I feel rather neutral on the choice to not share the new sheets here - it seems noble enough but I don't think it actually achieves anything either, and is probably disappointing for those who want to see their recent submissions showcased. But this comments section is a train wreck. Telling your users to get fucked, editing their comments and posting sarcastic GIFs only adds fuel to the fire. There are much smoother ways of replying to people, if there's any need to reply at all. |

Because Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is a puzzle game by Capcom featuring it's fighting game characters, it's Super-deformed art style is one of my favorite game art styles. I had to have him at the same size as all of the other characters in Puzzle Fighter (Ryu, Chun-Li, Morrigan, etc.). A Skill Star is his special character win icon for the Playstation and Saturn versions of the game, and he has his own portraits, character tile, stage and Counter Gem drop pattern. |

Alright, I've seen enough. Pulling out the big guns. People, stop talking if you have nothing worthwhile to say. And no, debating whether this "belongs on a sprite website" or not is not worthwhile. We've established this 500,000 times by now and we're frankly getting sick of having to spell that out for you. We are going to stand for what's right and if you don't like it that's too damn bad. Get over it already. Stop looking at the comments and the front page if you don't like it and by all means, don't get involved if you have nothing good to say (hint, much of the stuff said here is not good). None of us at the staff care whether you get buttmad over lack of sprites or leave because of that. There are people that have some common sense that look up to us and are happy with what we are doing. So y'all can shit your diapers all you want, we're never going to stop doing what's right. Forget the stupid sprites for a minute, you can always come back next week to see them but this is Kind Of Actually Important. |

Just because it's a Sprite website, doesn't mean it can't have posts pertaining to the wider world. Yes, people come here for sprites, but that doesn't mean that all the bad things in the world isn't happening while they do that, and it should be highlighted that where the website stands in current events. In fact, I'd venture as far to say that it's pretty gorramn arrogant to say "Oh, cool, sprites, much nicer to look at than the terrible terrible things I'm seeing on the news box that emits lights and sound". What really gets my fucking goat is how compared to the posts that had references to Covid didn't really get all that much bother, but as soon as the staff - quite rightly - stands for BLM and shows support, suddenly people are in a tizzy over a human rights issue, sourced from centuries of injustice. But no, sprites are somehow more important than basic human decency and standing for the right thing. How can you be so narrow-minded? Hate to break it to you nay-sayers, but the internet isn't actually a place to run away and hide because reality is a bunch of BS at the moment. It has a few distractions but let's be honest: distractions are temporary, reality is permanent. And the reality is, we're in the midst of one of the worst things to occur in our lifetime, that has permeated every way of life, with something terrible having occurred during the passage of many lifetimes, that has again culminated in the protests that we see. Black Lives do Matter. That is a fact. This is a human rights issue that should permeate every way of life just like Covid did, because it's been around way longer and effects so many people. As for the lack of sprites in the update. So. WHAT? Petie stated above front and center, the content isn't being highlighted out of respect. If that's a problem, well, with all due respect, that's on you. |
