Eerie
Eerie would have functioned like he did in the Super Mario World game save for the fact that they sometimes came in groups and would move in different patterns at times.

Pokey
Pokey would have had the same functions as he did in the normal games with little variation. It would have been possible that, by touching Pokey, you would have gotten needles stuck in you that would have periodically hurt you until you hit the attack button a couple of times to pull them out. Of course, that's just something I just thought of. Head idle/laugh, depressed (not sure what I was going for with this one), KO, angry (would have chased you if angered), body segment.

Ninji
Ninji with its fire resistant recolor. Ninji would have jumped around in the fan game as it did in the games it's from, but it would have also jumped forward and actually latch onto the player, draining the player's life and preventing them from jumping until shaken off. Kind of similar to a baby Goomba or Fuzzy from the Paper Mario games. There's idle, jump, fall from jump, latch onto, and flattened/KO.

Bullet Bill
Bullet Bill plus the Homing/Magnum Bullet Bill (second row) and its cannon. The cannon was in separate parts to enable the main part to rotate and face the player's position. The light ring was used when the bullet was fired off as a blast effect.

An unfinished and very ugly Piranha Plant from the 2 Souls' Tale fan game. Still functioning though.

Baron Brrr
Baron Brr was meant as a floating background object in the Freeze Flame Galaxy area in the Mushroom Kingdom and would have functioned similarly to the giant floating eye object in Castlevania Symphony of the Night. This is why there's only one sprite of him.

Well, he was meant as a unique npc in a fan game called 2 Souls' Tale back in the 2010s. He would have later become a summonable assist character. The play style of the game was a Metroidvania.

Here's a neat fact for you: PvZ DS renders the zombies and plants on one layer (If I recall correctly it also renders the front yard's grass)!

this game is just unkind. Even with emulator tricks getting to the end to extract these sprites is a feat, ESPECIALLY if you bothered to pick up the babies.

this game is apparently available legitimately on Steam in English now, despite seeming to have stolen some graphics from other games and unquestionably used more as bases. Without looking very long I definitely recognize ice, stone and explosion effects from seiken densetsu 3/trials of mana/ whatever else it is called now

Plants vs. Zombies 2
It's not just localization changes, they might share a name but the Chinese PvZ2 is an entirely different game with unique mechanics, zombies, plants, worlds, etc.
It's sort of like how entirely different games used to be released under the same title back in the GBA/DS days, where the portable game would be a 2D platformer with pixel art and the home console game would be fully 3D with voice acting and such.

The Battle of Red Cliffs (Bootleg)
This is based on the Capcom arcade game Tenchi Wo Kurau 2, called Warriors of Fate and with all the characters also renamed outside of Japan, pretending it wasn't a sequel to Dynasty Wars. It features most of the same character designs as Destiny of an Emperor on the NES. Although some characters, such as Wei Yan, have generic officer portraits in that.

12PLAYERGM is below the Mario/Luigi/Time/Star row, but sorted inside its own font. ILLUSIYELLOW on the other hand refers to the overworld border text, which has not enough space to display YELLOW SWITCH PALACE and FOREST OF ILLUSION. Therefore the devs squished some parts of the font more together and used these chunks to save space.

A Link to the Past Light World (Zelda Game Boy-Style)
Hi! In the original SNES version, those two areas aren't part of the overworld, from a programming point a view. But, yes, I could include them in the overworld of my GB version. But I wanted the overworld to be a rectangle, to get something similar to Link's Awakening (and I got what I wanted: same number of maps and exactly same size than LsA ^^). But of course the two areas will be there in game (you can see the entrance for both on the map above).
