Umm, I know that the Prince is tiny so are those "Ghosts" supposed to be humans or what? Last I saw someone play Katamari the Ultraman family weren't cameos and all. Please don't think I'm trying to sound rude no, no, no not me I try to help.

But to me the humans do look off like A bunch of Toku characters but eh I don't know a thing about this series lore other than a cosmic entity keeps breaking all the stars (save the sun) by getting drunk, playing golf and so many other stuff that I can only say "Yup Japanese Humor, they find some of the weirdest stuff funny but can be epic in their adventure stuff." and then forces his son to roll things up on a sticky ball to make new ones.

They probably see us the same of us humor wise, and adventure stuff wise too. So yeah no criticism here just looks off to me. But the game it is based on is the same. ?

I have a big fondness for this character. I call him CG as when I first was introduced to him it was the early days of sprite comics, B&G had just hit it big, Captain SNES was where I met many Squaresoft characters there, and I met CG here alongside Kuros and learned he had a twisted sense of humor among to SMG4 character not named Tari or Meggy.

The comic was called "Knight's of the old coding" and was a very funny one for a Teen with ADHD to read, still can be read over on the Internet Archives and this brings the whole hate of Link CG harbored full circle. This guy is so obscure why was he only given a single NES game and a GBC remake and not in one of SNK's man crossovers or on the Neo Geo?! Ah well another hero for the Gameus Obscureus but welcome. If you don't mind I might make a few comics with this.

If I was any good at hacking I'd put him in a hack of Zelda 2 with these and make the Princess he wakes not Zelda but Francesca from Kiron Conquest, she was his love interest (well she loved him cause he rescued her) in KoTOC not that CG ever realized she loved him, you remember I said he he had a twisted sense of humor? Well he also had a obsession with swords to the point he took the old Tigger song (the one about him being the only one) into a love song about the various types of swords "but the most wonderful thing about swords is I use them to fight, I use them to fight!"

Think I'll have to make a CG inspired character for Teganji. But that has nothing to do with light dots arranged to make awesome characters but does involve plastic, so a subject for the forums one day but not here.

Sorry for the long comment, just lot of history with this dude. like ton said unexpected, but can't say thank you enough for making them. Keep safe never stop being awesome, would love to see Kuros in this style too.

@Murphmario From what I've read from Neil Harding, it took four months to develop the game. It started in July when the Genesis version was still in development and that screen according to the protos was fixed from around August 31 but probably done just a bit before. Probably my guess is that no one noticed the change and still had the original art as a placeholder until after this Saturn proto was made. The original PIC file gives the date 6 September, a week after the change.

Sometimes when things get ported to another console, the materials that are provided are from an earlier version. This has happened many times, sometimes very minor while others are very noticeable (cough SilentHillHDCollection cough).

Pretty rare to see an animated intro on the computer however...

It only appears on the disk version. Tape owners have to settle with a loading screen (still nice looking compared to the original C64 version and especially the NES title screen).
