Love this game. My dad hates it, thinks Link smushing goombas isn't great. It is.
I happened to play this game when I was in elementary school, and I first learned about Contra and Devil's Castle Dracula through this game.
In addition, the characters who appeared in the character change of each character appearing in this work are as follows.

@ValisEmma: Probably because the WW sprites are slightly bigger than the NES ones and therefore might not have fit within the...boxes? Frames? Cells? Of Mega Man's sheet. For both Mega Man and Bass, there are 16-bit versions of some of the skins, and I think that's good enough.
Also, I'm pretty sure some of the "unused content" here is unofficial; I know some people made their own custom skins and posted them on the Exploding Rabbit forums, and I swear the Geno and Sonic skins were custom. Might need further investigation.

why does this game not have wily wars mega man
@Vitalik Nerd we knew about a Vic Viper sheet being left in the game
In March of this year, Jay Pavlina himself revealed that he accidentally left unused graphics like Vic Viper and Jay himself regrets that he did not remove them from the game!
He wrote on his Discord server

Man this is what got me into 8 bit sprites.
Thanks Captain, now I'm ripping all that I can of this game. It's one of my childhood game.
@Toms flash decompiler, theres plenty across the internet and theyre pretty easy to find
How do you guys ripped the sheets of the game?
Man, I missed this game so much, So much nostalgia they made, This is truly one of the best fangame. Thanks to this legend Jay Pavlina the creator of Super Mario Bros. Crossover
why there isnt kirby inside this fangame
@CaptainGame17 alright, kinda disappointing there were only 3 but it's nice to have them archived.
finally they got lots of sprites
this is too good of a game
@KKHell finally got around to seeing if there were any that were archived. there were only 3, but ive submitted them here so hopefully they wont get lost again
Kosmic playing it, one of the comments says it's the third game, maybe this one uses the sprites which were not used in the first one?

This thread mentions that the third game (or v.3.1.21) uses graphical options from the first one, it also has a reddit download link for a standalone offline version with support for fullscreen and gamepad (called Super Mario Bros. Crossover DX):

I made a very bare-bones documentation on the palette system this game uses, as not many people seem to understand it. I've also left the ability to suggest edits to the document, feel free to read about it.

I wonder if someone has the skins that were never implemented in the game archived. there were a LOT of them on the pre-3.0 wiki.
@mario121: Game rips are not supposed to be submitted to Custom / Edited.
