Hey everyone! I feel like it's been quite a while since I've done one of these so I'm here to bring you just over 800 new sheets this week!

With so much new content, it's going to be tough to highlight individuals but I suppose a good place to start is with the customs. There are a bunch of new Mario customs among a handful of others for a total of 41 new submissions to the section this week which is always awesome to see!

Outside of the custom section, there's obviously plenty more so let's get started. The DS / DSi gets 105 new submissions with a ton from Castlevania (thanks to rufaswan's continued efforts) and also a bunch from Mario & Luigi: Bowswer's Inside Story (courtesy of Greiga Master and our very own Ton), and a few more from Super Robot Wars W and Kingdom Hearts to round everything out. Kingdom Hearts also appears in our mobile section (mayphelion) alongside Professor Layton (Luna16) and lots more so there's plenty to see there as well! And to finish off this random selection, the Nintendo Switch sees submissions to four of its games this week - Cadence of Hyrule (brought to us by RTB and Dazz), Fire Emblem: Three Houses (Dakress), Paper Mario: The Origami King (courtesy of a variety of people), and one more submission to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for quite the showing this week as well! That's really just a small sampling of what this update has to offer though so be sure to check out what interests you and perhaps pass on a thank you to those who ripped it!

Before I go though, I do want to quickly cover one important event that just recently happened. As I'm sure many of you are already aware, a large amount of confidential and sensitive data from Nintendo was recently leaked. This may sound hypocritical coming from us given the nature of the content on this site but we can't support or participate in the large-scale theft of intellectual property so we will not be accepting any submissions from this leaked data. It wasn't just images that were released - the full source code of various games and a bunch of other internal-only data is now out there and that goes way beyond what we do here, especially since many of those games are still available for purchase in one form or another directly from Nintendo. So, out of respect for their works as well as our time and yours, please do not submit anything obtained from these files - it will be rejected on-sight.

On that note though, that does it for this week's update! Be sure to check in next week for updates on all four sites and in the meantime, enjoy your weekend!

Edit: Because this has apparently gone wildly off the rails, let me make one thing crystal clear. Not accepting content from these leaks is not a moral issue. Respect for the private information included in the leak may be a small component here but the reality is, this data was obtained through a targeted and overtly illegal attack on Nintendo's servers and there is nothing gray about it. When I said we can't participate in large-scale theft, that's what I was referring to - the incredibly illegal nature of how this data was obtained. Nintendo has already been removing the content from other sites which should be evidence enough that it was a good call, for legal reasons, to not upload it here. Morality was never my primary reason for refusing this content - it was just a bonus at that point.

@nonesuchriver Don't take this the wrong way, but the site doesn't belong to the users. They don't get a say.
The staff needs to do what ultimately protects the site from legal action. That's the only thing that really matters in the decision.

See now that's where you're wrong. In the end, we don't have to agree on anything and arguing that point will get you nowhere. Our stance is firm and you just have to accept that.

@Petie I just think we need to come on an agreement both the visitor and the staff members can agree on. I am going to leave you this advice because I am dropping out of this conversation.

@nonesuchriver No, that really accomplishes nothing. We simply won't accept content acquired in this way.

@Random Talking Bush: Thanks. Maybe it didn't load on my end or if this site pulled a twitter and a feature crapped out as another section was being modified...

Update: It displays just fine on my phone. Odd...

Maybe we could restrict leaked content to people with accounts only?

Just because they're up elsewhere and that they were up here for a while doesn't make it okay. We allowed it originally because we didn't know where they came from. We do now and we really don't want to cross the line with Nintendo so in an abundance of caution, we removed them as we now know that they were stolen at the same time as the rest of this data. I imagine Nintendo didn't go after anyone about them at the time because it was a small leak but with them being part of this much larger issue, it's definitely possible they'll take action now. It's equally possible they won't but it's not a risk we're willing to take.

You know what maybe I overreacted maybe some of the points I made out were wrong but so were you. The space world 1997 leak is indeed from the same data breach but it was uploaded over 2 years ago and it is still up on the tcrf and it was still up on the spriters resource. These leaks aren’t as dangerous as you might think. I don’t know I just wish we could come to some kind of compromise. Edit: sorry I meant Aren’t

@Mysticus just because it wasn't part of the same leak doesn't mean that it wasn't obtained through the same methods for the gigaleak itself.

I mean honestly, based on the last two comment's it's just you agreeing with yourself to stroke your own ego and now you're calling an admin a dick over the fact that it was obtained through similar methods?

No offense, but it sounds like you're just complaining because you want something to complain about and that's kind of retarded given you're only looking at it from one side.

@Petie
Now THAT was a very disrespectful way to cause a rage here.
For an admin you're being a total DICK!
G/S Spaceworld 97 demo is NOT a part of this Gigaleak and yet you delete it for no whatever reason!
And it's because of YOU telling anyone to not upload any Nintendo beta anymore.
Those are NOT something you see everyday. Really.

@nonesuchriver: You're right. Clearly the staff can't do anything right -- whichever decision we take on things is always the wrong one. Clearly the fans know more than us about running the site judging by how many times people have bickered at us for things we've allowed onto the site (do you know how many times people have reported custom submissions? Too many to count.), things we've said (this and the BLM updates), things we haven't said...

I give up. It's damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't, and frankly I'm sick and tired of it all.

@nonesuchriver Are you seriously going to come in here and cry double-standards now? If we had double-standards, we would have left the Space World demo up. If you had taken 12 seconds to read the previous comments, you'd see that it was originally accepted because we didn't know the source. Then, this leak happened in a public and very illegal way, we found out our older Space World leak happened the same way, and we removed it. That's the opposite of double-standards - it's literally applying the same standards across the board.

Okay I'm sorry but this is just senseless bitching at this point.

I wasn't even aware that the G/S Spaceworld 97 demo was from the same leak but this kind of is becoming a stupid thing to argue about. I'm all for preserving game history but at this point given that TVGR operates on a gray area and doesn't want to risk getting shut down and you have a couple of fans who are that stuck up on their high horse about just a couple of graphics that can be found just about anywhere on the internet not being on here I'm starting to think that this discussion is going back and forth between a rock and a hard place.

@Nonesuchriver TVGR is not 4chan.

Just because shit is still up on 4chan doesn't mean that the staff on this site is going to do the same thing. You're comparing two totally different entities that do not operate in the same way at all. So your argument there is honestly non-existent for that reason.

WTH you guys removed the gold and silver prototype page. Okay now I think that you guys have become paranoid of anything regarding leaks. Before this gigaleak you Thought leaks were fine and they were allowed but when this specific leak came which just so happened to contain the living myth Luigi your opinion immediately took a u turn and you now instantly think that all leaks are shady and illegal and shall be removed. You bring up the argument that you will get into Nintendo’s crossfire and go as far as the say the leaks are starting to get taken down however I have heard no such reports elsewhere and in fact the main download itself is still up on 4chan if Nintendo was taking these down don’t you think they would go for the source first. In fact I think the source code leaks from may are still up on archive .org. Also if the gold and silver demos were part of this leak then doesn’t that prove these leaks are safe since it has been up for a while before you removed Voluntarily the only good point you have is that this is theft of intellectual property but that applies to everything not just leaks since you are basically giving away assets to games. You also say that no matter how much time passes these leaks will not be okay Which is your way of saying as long as I am still alive we will never except this specific leak. But that just doesn’t make sense. Leaks will spread from person to person until it is far from the original source, that just the nature of leaks. From all the evidence I have gathered this completely about morality and you have double standards. I bet if this leak was just some obscure tech demo even if was stole by Nintendo you would allow it, lol. I hate to say it but the fans are right.

@Mysticus Again, this has nothing to do with anyone here. Our stance, as shown above, was that we wouldn't redistribute content obtained illegally from this leak. When it was put up originally, we didn't know how it was obtained. Now we do and we confirmed that with our own research, not just the random comments thrown around here.

Aaaaaaand there goes away forever this rare gem.
This shouldn't never happen if some of you acted like a boorish brat hating to everything.
Every time something like this happens, we always end up having this childish tantrum conversation.

@Mysticus The removal of the Space World demo had nothing to do with The KKM. It was confirmed that those files did indeed come from the same leak and as such, they were deleted. That's all there is to it.

As for the supposedly broken icon, it's definitely not broken on my end either nor should it be given that the two games used different icons.

@Gaia: I'm not seeing a broken icon either, but regardless I've re-uploaded the existing one.
