The way Pac-Man X1 implemented sprites didn't leave enough room in VRAM for the extra tiles the arcade intermissions use, which is why the X1 version's intermissions use the same basic ghost sprites the rest of the game uses. Dempa also made the mistake of loading all of the sprite tiles in a 5000-line handwritten BASIC executable that's separate from the main game, which meant they would unable to use a second tileset and still be able to switch back to the original one without unloading the entire game from memory.
It's from the original game's intermissions.
Thanks for ripping these sprites man! I love the way it looks for the Sharp X1 system! :)
I mean, it is an early Sharp X1 game by Dempa in 1983, so overall, it's still a really good port!

So the unused is the ghost being cut?
Interesting! So it appears that the intermissions were planned at some point!
