A lot of stuff in FF9 is a waste of disc space, honestly. Especially the segment between Disk 1 Lindblum all the way to Disk 2 Alexandria where Garnet forces you to play through her stupidity of returning to Alexandria after we (and Zidane) went through all that effort to help her get OUT of Alexandria at the beginning of the game in the first place, making the first few hours of gameplay completely pointless (and ruining the love story with Zidane, her husbando that she does NOT treat well) and all the horrible consequences that happen as a result when she gets back home to her crazy mother and gives her the Eidolons on a silver platter. It was just painful and drawn out for a foregone conclusion.
