Something interesting is that many of the sprites were changed between the Japanese, and German releases for some reason such as the girl seen on the password screen, and of course the title screen logo.

Yes it was, though it was the victim of a Dolled-Up Installment of sorts when it get released in Germany- all the main characters' sprites were changed as well as some of the minor supporting characters.
It's marked as a (PAL) game on the Sounds Resource, so I used that mark for the Spriters' Resource entry.
