Turns out, YouTube doesn't know much about this game, other than the drowning theme.

@D.M. the elinux wiki had a url like this for the firmware, and just using the same naming conventions as the rom i found the micromods. there are apparently no full on roms hosted on the server (except for two and a half games getting ports to the leapster explorer) and they increment in hexadecimal incase anyone needs help finding the rest of the animal sprites and stuff. now for a world in which someone can emulate these games

The Micromods (which contain some additional sprites) can be found at this url, just incrementing the number for the other ones. http://digitalcontent.leapfrog.com/packages/DIDJ/DIDJ-0x000F0004-000001.lfp If i need to delete this link, let me know.

The sprite clash in this game is insane.
Even with just Sonic himself, Sonic 3 for most sprites, but then he becomes Sonic 2 Sonic for his diagonal sprites, and then goes back another game for his end pose.

Nope, this is definitely the most obscure sonic game of all time.

I really wish there was a Didj emulator out there, or at least a virtual machine of whatever version of Linux it runs.

Also, I don't know a good way to test this besides using a leapster explorer which seems to have it auto-unlocked (unless its just on my leapster explorer), but there's extra sprites in the form of "micromods" for Sonic. there's custom idle poses for sonic reading the news, playing with a yoyo, and sitting with a parasol (or whatever those sand umbrellas are). There's also victory poses for sonic breakdancing, moonwalking, and doing a backflip.

@Smoke-The-Pyroling Even though SEGA only got "special thanks" at the end of the credits (WTF?!), it's not a bootleg or fan game; It was licensed but developed by Realtime Associates, who also did the Sonic X game and Bug! (the latter was made for the Saturn since there was no Sonic game for it at the time of its launch).

@TehPuertoRicanRipper Depends on the game. This game uses a custom image format, but most others use raw PNG files.

@t_s_h Assuming you live up to your username, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to port DOOM to the Didj (it already caught the attention of some hackers due to its familiar hardware).

So I can run doom on this, @RaguRando ?
