If only we had a user who knew the complete history of Warner Brothers cartoons to set us straight...
Road Runner makes all sorts of noises from those syllables. It's apparently based off a janitor that said "hmeep hmeep" a lot, though.
Sounds like the Road Runner situation. Warner Bros claims it's "Beep beep!" But everyone hears "Meep meep!"
