to elaborate on ennd's comment, yeah I'm using my own custom exporter than takes the graphics data as-well as the OAM data for those graphics and assembles the sprites from it. Replacing the graphics would be pretty difficult. Tools like tilemolester have simple painting tools and you will be able to pretty easily find graphics data (it's standard 4bpp 15 bit BGR) but they might be split up, especially if it's a large sprite.
ducktor is using his own custom exporter program to rip the sprites. youre not gonna get far with any existing program cause of how the game stores and loads the sprites iirc, ive tried a lot of them in the past lol
Are you using Tilemolester to get all these sprites ? I think I tried it once and didn't find clear sprites in it. Is there a specific file to load in the software ? I remember trying to open every file I had with it without knowing what I was doing haha I also used Tinke to get data files but really I'm unfamiliar with all that stuff...
If we can't modify the rom while running the game, we could create a patch to modify some of the sprites beforehands, right ? It could be a fun thing to implement ig

Unfortunately there's not any automated way to replace sprites in the ROM at the moment, though most graphics viewers (tilemolester) will have some sort of rudimentary tool for editing the graphics.
The work on these sprites is amazing ! I am currently working on an Archipelago randomizer for this game and I don't really know how you can find those sprites... Is there a way to find them, alter them or swap them in the rom ? Or maybe dynamically when the game is running ? Lmk
Recently got an automatic exporter working for Rocket Slime that is able to assemble sprites from OAM data in the files (so no more manual assembly of large sprites made up of many OAM objects). It also exports animations with correct timings.
I'll be slowly uploading all that I can. Palettes are still a bit iffy since they store palette references via indexes into palette memory instead of directly referencing them which means sometimes I have to hardcode them if the file doesn't store a required palette. If anyone notices anything I upload has incorrect colours, please notify me.
I'll also request revisions where needed (especially if I find any unused animations), I've already done so for the platypunk.

I'm currently working on combining smaller elements together onto a sheet. This includes the unused elements, the monster statues, items, and objects.
@Ducktor Sounds orderly and great! Imo using the indivisual names belongs to each species to sheet names, and in the future also combining ones present now would be nice
Speaking on non-playable characters, a significant (probably 50+%) portion of the town are just palette variants of a base slime "species". Would it be better to just upload future town members as the base "species" with the variant palettes included rather than uploading 5+ individual spritesheets of the individual slimes?
Incredible work digging through the files for this unused content, Ducktor!
I hold a grudge against Hooly. He's the one who caused the whole game, that idiot.
It's Dragon Quest dude, you haven't seen anything.
the names of these tanks are rather painful puns, don't ya agree?
