What is the basis for your ban on using such sprites on Sonic.Exe games? Will you go to court or express a pathetic protest? I'm just interested in understanding the logic of such disclaimers.

It's understandable why they wouldn't use it, though. Imagine that intense-looking an enemy appearing in Green Hill Zone.
You can probably figure it out since it uses Sonic's palette.
