Nah, you can use more colors on the NES using some programming tricks. The Megaman series is a example of this. The only thing I think that could be better is that the sprite is a little too big for a bob-omb.

But anyway, it is still a pretty amazing sprite! Very detailed and it has very accurate proportions. It kinda reminds me a little of the Mario Maker SMB1 sprites.
