Listening to Akiko's theme, I can't help but think of Kirby's Dream Course.
i recommend this to people who are new to arcade games. it has a bit of a modern 2D platformer vibe (reminds me slightly of cave story), but of course since it's an arcade game it's much more intense and can be frustrating.
