The names of the Pokemon here aren't actually completely random. I think the people who programmed this game tried to translate their original Japanese names and did so pretty poorly.

From what I can tell that it also has a genesis port, @ZTO. If that's the case it might be a kitbash bootleg, where sourcecode from various games are cobbled together instead of a coherent, functioning string.
