I'd say a further addendum to "Homebrew" is they typically don't attempt to make quick cash-grabs with a franchise they don't own. Could be wrong, though.
Kid kinda looks like he's from one of the NES Final Fantasy games, to be honest.
Gauntlet 1 was actually licensed by Nintendo. It was released before Tengen "cut ties".
I think we'll be trying to pin down the meanings of tags on sheets soon. I'm thinking the following;
A Hack is a graphical alteration, a Homebrew is an unofficial game released long after the system's lifespan, and Unlicensed is a game like Wally Bear or Gauntlet, which didn't have Nintendo's OK during the original lifespan.
