@Greater_UltraMan Nope... There was regular Lode Runner and Championship Lode Runner, only the former was released in the US. There were also the two inspired by the arcade version called Super Lode Runner but that was on the Famicom Disk System.

It wasn't the origin of Bomberman as it already got games on various computers but IS the first game that uses the robot design that we know.

The SG-1000 also got both Lode Runners, reprogrammed by Sega but seems more faithful to the original versions. Japan really did like old American computer games at one point since Choplifter and Spelunker also got the same arcade/console treatment, Wizardry was a massive influence to RPGs. Lode Runner, Spelunker and Wizardry are owned by Japanese companies now.

I... believe officially this is "Championship Lode Runner" since that was the only version of Lode Runner that was released on the NES.

And yes, the origin of Bomberman. You find the strangest things going through old Apple games...
