I believe that second option was already in Fawful's spritesheet.
Someone should fix that "Entering Bowser's body" overworld sprite of her's, it's a bit messed up. Plus, she had some animations of her appearing out of Fawful's headgear, and disappearing when she's possessing Bowser.
This spirit is as high as the international space station.
Kinda slightly reminds me of Gruntilda in the whole "witch is beaten by the heroes and comes back as an undead skeleton thing (obviously excluding the additional ghost and possession elements Cackletta has)

The only time a Mario game has someone flying the middle finger.
