since luigi is not here, though he's a playable character, we need a game called "Luigi Is Missing!"

(And also note that just because we don't have 'em on The Models Resource doesn't mean they're pre-rendered.)

@RTB: Okay, so I was about to explain something, but as I typed it, I found out about how much of an idiot I am. I DO KNOW, however, that the playable characters in NSMBW, NSMBU/NSLU, & NSMB2 (not sure about NSMB2, though. Haven't played that one in forever. But you make a valid point. There is also a way to tell that Mario in NSMBU is a pre-render. Look at the Super Mario Maker beta footage. He is clearly a sprite. They use the same sprites in Mario Maker (well, not always *cough* Mario's swimming in SMB style *cough*), however it has been confirmed that NSMBU uses pre-renders. I apologize for my retarded outburst about Mario being a non-model. Now that I think of it, he did always look more 3D-ish to me. Guess that's why. ANYWAYS. Bottom line is: I'm sorry for not using 2 seconds of commonly known research before commenting.

@LakituBro: If that's the case then why are the sprites so pixelated? The ones that are actually pre-rendered (the Goombas and Koopa Troopas, and everything else in the specifically-separated 2D Enemies section) are smooth.

Plus, you know, we have most of the models ripped.

Do your research before making assumptions.

ATTENTION EVERYONE: Mario is actually not a model. Every NSMB game so far has used PRE-RENDERED SPRITES. The sprites look 3D, but are actually not. Everyone thinks games like this use models, but they don't. There's just a TON of sprites, and it makes it LOOK 3D, but it is really just heavy detail and some developers being awesome.

A bit late with the response, but I used a NDS emulator and removed the BG layer, then I put the game in a frame by frame mode and took 100s of screenshots or each animation.

I might try and use Photoshop to alter his colors to at least make a Fire Mario, if I have any spare time. I don't have the time to do any other characters. I made a custom Luigi a few years ago on MFGG.

It would probably take a while to rip Luigi and the rest of Mario's forms (except for Fire), due to the fact that their models.
