i think if they made any sonic.exe cannon the fandom whould go ballitic 1000x time more than they did when it comes to rouge's "presonallity" in fan art of her, ALL sides i mean not just the Horny side but also the Cringy recolors, the Oc's which are basicly like the kid of one of them ect. you know what i mean

@haek I mean the tailstube (a series intended to explain the sonic canon for anyone still confused) episode on the multiverse references sarah/needlemouse in an image of sonic varients. So they're KINDA cannon, just in the rick and morty way not the "will be given lore and playable appearances" way.
Not arguing for that to change anything here, just find it funny that they HAVE technically canonized exes, just not in any way that'll be relevant for this site.

Anyway I don't think unofficial characters should count at all, whether officially acknowledged or not. They're unofficial.

@Luigifan1115: I was referring to the fact that SRB is another popular fan-work (just like Sonic.EXE) that we'd been getting custom submissions for every now and then, and have had to decline since they're not official.

@RTB ...what's SRB got to do with anything? SEGA never made official content out of that as far as I'm aware, so there's a difference. Also, yeah, he's not CANON, but like half the characters in this section aren't, no? I don't see Sonia and Manic popping up in anything that matters ever again, but they still had genuine SEGA content made for them, just as EXE has. Similarly, there's about a 0.2% chance that Majin Sonic ever lives as anything but an easter egg that showed up in one game, he has a legacy of his own being connected to said "crappypastas", and has no actual significance to anything in the Sonic franchise, but he has a couple sheets over on the main page.

@Luigifan1115: We're never going to accept Sonic.EXE submissions. I don't know how many times I have to say it -- just because fan works get (unwarranted) popularity and just because a social media account decided to make a joke about it does not mean it's "canon" and deserves to have sprites up here. We already can't accept Sonic Robo Blast customs for being fan works, so a "crappypasta" thing isn't going to get special treatment here.

@Dolphman It's not like I particularly want it in, but I'm just saying, the only reason NOT to have it would be pure bias, and. uh i think thats pretty funny idk :troll~1: (also its scary sonic with blood eyes i dont think one person can really claim it, theres multiple examples of ppl doing the same thing under a different name before jc the hyena showed up)

@Luigifan1115 Face the facts, bud. It's not going to be accepted on the site in any form. The sheer annoyance of that thing is why we have been putting disclaimers on our spritesheets that prohibit our sprites from being used in anything related to it. Also, the creator behind the whole thing is a creep.

@Doc I'd agree if it was purely a mention, but they made exclusive artwork and sprites specifically for it. It's similar to Deltarune having the sprites from the newsletters on its page, despite just being promo material that doesn't show up ingame.

You could make the same argument for Sonichu. Social media posts acknowledging them doesn't really count.

hate to login and use this account but by all means sonic.exe should be allowed on this specific customs section, as he has appeared in official sonic media (that being social media posts, see here and here) alongside rankles the otter (see here)

IDK, the idea that there are people who might only know of Sally because of Sally.exe is legitimately distressing to me.

I think the reason we have this "epidemic" of Sonic OC's being put on this site is because of new Sonic-fans (Or people who have only read IDW) look at most of these characters and are like, "Who are these guys? Oh! they must be OC's! That means I can post some OC's I've made!" (This is purely speculation btw.)
