Well, I've read that the Goombas didn't enter the picture until very late in development, when it became nessesary that they needed an easier enemy that can be defeated in a single stomp when the Koopas proved to make gameplay difficult. Also kinda explains the rushed design the Goombas have in the final game.
Well, for the limited hardware of the NES, I think the wings look great! 👍🏽
Think I prefer these over the classic SMB1 Goombas. Nice job!
