in fact, i did know! still, all knowledge is good, so thanks for sharing this with us ^^
NES could do more than three with layers (Like SMB2 has 4 colors do to this), I know you likely knew this I just wanted to share a fun fact

I think some early arcade games like pacman also was limited by 3 colors for the sprites, anyway really well done sprites you did
lol. tho, i got a bit inspired by the 3 colors limitations of the nes and GBC (even tho i didn't use their colors, i used the MS Paint color pallette, lol)

Fnaf minigames if they were actual arcade games:
i can see it on sprites like the Marionette or Freddy's hat, but i guess it'd look better when it's resized, like what happens in the FNaF 2 minigames! Look at them at 3x, 5x, this is what i guess would happen. But, since i'll update this to add the "Save Them" Purple Guy, i might fix it, making it a lighter gray!
These are nice sprites, but I think the darker accent colors blend into the black background
