| Jul 4, 2026 12:55 PM | babyjeff | Asset: Sonic.EXE | prompt_suggestion hmm, interesting, thanks for the reply! i suppose that makes some sense, though i have to imagine at some point it does come down to "vibes": percentage-wise, a mega man fangame has a lot more original fan characters than sonic.exe does, but since sonic.exe is featured as the main antagonist and the game revolves around him, it's not considered as significant that every other character is official. if you really wanted to be pedantic with it though, you could ask what even defines a fan character - if sunky is simply a deformed version of sonic, would exe not be one too? hell, the weird extra lore added in the My5tCrimson game kind of seems to imply that, unlike the original creepypasta, sonic.exe *is* just a possessed sonic instead of some separate demon creature, which would make him... not a separate character at all. in the end while it does sort of bug me it doesn't matter too much, and i don't intend to belabor the point, just had some more thoughts on it spurred by your reply bringing the topic back up. |
