	@JonGandee It's a bit of a grey area where they can mean the same or be completely different. This is how I personally see it: Bootleg - An unofficial port, game using IP that they didn't have the license for or what is basically a hack put into a cartridge/disc. Could also mean a copy of a game as well. These are usually found in developing countries, Spain is also known for selling bootlegs as well due to their lax copyright law despite also having their own gaming industry. e.g. Somari, Lion King II, Final Fight 3 or Donkey Kong Country 4 on the NES, the various football hacks that got physical copies. Some countries e.g. South Korea, Taiwan also got bootleg MSX ports to the Master System and SG-1000 due to sharing a video mode. Unlicensed - An original game or in the case of Tengen (Atari) licensed ports but just couldn't get the license or in a few cases made on the sly, these can also be sold retail but harder to find. It's more legal than the above due to including legalese on the box/cart (not always though). For Tengen and Codemasters, it's down to Nintendo's restrictive policies at the time. Not just Nintendo consoles, Accolade's games were mostly unlicensed on the Sega Genesis. I think there are a couple of examples on PlayStation consoles as well. It would also apply to games where there was no official support to even grant a license because of their host country e.g. most Sachen games, some South Korean games on the Master System. Modern homebrew that have physical releases could count too.
