You mean Glowing Sphere? There would be no point in ripping it - as you say, it's a background with naught but numbers for tiles that don't exist. It serves no purpose, and the rest of the content from the stage matches that seen in the 0408 Prototype.

@Παρατηρητής Interesting...

Anyways, I just realized your name was in Greek, and it reads "Paratiritís", meaning "observer".

I'm... not sure how feasible it is for a 512x512 tileset sheet for the Hydrocity Zone background, when, without the 2.5D water surface (which is an overlay anyway), the height of the background is 768 pixels to 256 pixels in the width (512 on-sheet to demonstrate looping). You would literally have to have two versions of the background; one with the lower 256 pixels removed, and another with the upper 256 pixels removed.

@SonicStorm478 it is funny
idk why they did not just remove michaels music for this

It's funny to me that the replacement music used in the PC version of Sonic 3 turned out to be the original tracks all along.

@Chainspike I know idk how different it could be

@SonicTron It actually isn't even that early, it's only about one month or less from the final version. If a build this late has this many differences, it makes you wonder how different an earlier prototype could be.

I'm blown away by how TCRF and HP found a prototype this early. I thought it would just be another "1 week before final" version with little to no changes.

Yes, they do, as does Robotnik (non-Boss unit objects) and a majority of the objects (until Super Tails eventually comes along and affects them). But Tails can't just be slapped onto Sonic's sheet with that logic in mind, it wouldn't work.

@The Observer Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Sonic and Tails share the same palette?

I just got Tails' Sonic 2 Sprite sheet and changed the pallete

@The Observer This may sound a little dumb, but I'd say put Tails on Sonic's sheet and rename the sheet "Sonic and Tails".

The main issue I find with Tails is not so much that his sprites are unchanged between Sonic 2 and this prototype, but there is a singular difference in regards to the palette besides the obvious one of the change in grey palette. His AIZ underwater palette is much different to the final one in Sonic 3, in part because he shares his palette line with Sonic.

Alas, that makes it wildly difficult to form a sheet for, since it'd be pointless to
1. Make a sheet of already-recorded sprites for the sake of one palette.
2. Make a sheet in which only one pose and the underwater palette are recorded.
3. Include the palette on the Sonic 2 sheet (a severe no-go option).

My best solution is to place it on an Object sheet somewhere. Sure I might have it on the Monitors sheet already but it's better to see it on the character himself, yes?

I get why Tails' sprites aren't added here. He has no new sprites, and the palette is pretty much the same as Sonic 2 though the grays are different

neat, it's pretty funny how some of s2's style slipped in the final,

Not a standard thing again, but it became felt that the main page's "Prototype" section would become too stuffy between characters and stage content, so it was easier to copy the logic that was employed for CD's prototype content and create this page.
