Submit to tSR
"Why would I want to submit to tSR?" I hear you ask. Well, tSR is one of the biggest Sprite Archives on the net, and by submitting you will be part of a website full of amazing sprites and spriters. I am not fussy about what you put on credit tags, so paste URLs of your website all over it.

Submit your Sprites to tSR if...
- They are GIFs or PNGs. These file types can be made in almost all graphic packages.
- They are ripped from a video game
- They are based on a character who appeared in official game related media.
- They are custom sprites, based on a character who was in a video game.
- You know the full title of the game and what console it is on, and make sure you tell me that.

Don't Submit your Sprites if...
- They are in PSD (unless a GIF/PNG alternative is submitted at the same time), JPG, BMP or any other kind of format. GIF and PNG are the only feasible types.
- They are based on a character who never appeared in an official game or game related media.
- Are a character you have invented, such as Suigi, Afro Link or Flonic the Green Echidna.
- You didn't make them. I don't care how good they are, they must be made by you.
- You plan to ask me to take them off the site again. (We will not remove a sheet if you ask us to)
- They are a really simple edits and/or recolours.
- They are ripped from M.U.G.E.N.. It's something that somebody else already ripped, or made custom.

So how do I submit already?
If you would like to submit to tSR, sign up to our message board using the link on the left.
You can also submit through email, although it is often unreliable and will take longer; Dazz@Spriters-resource.com

God made the world in 7 days, including the rest day. Well, here are 7 tips that'll make submitting easier for us, and for you!

1 - Image Files
  • Save your sheets in either .GIF or .PNG. (PNG is preferable.)
  • Reason being is because BMP is WAY too big (filesize wise) and JPEG/JPG blurs the sprites, making them pretty much unusable.
2 -Free Imagehosting
  • Need a free place to host your images? Try ImageShack or Photobucket
Anyother free sites that allow you to hotlink is fine too. Pixeltendo's uploading system is also okay.
  • HOWEVER, certain free sites like Tripod, Geocities, and such on don't allow hotlinking. The posted sheet/picture MAY work for you if it's on Tripod/Geocities/Freepages but it won't work for the rest of us. So please use Imageshack or Photobucket.
3 - No fansprites
  • Fansprites are usually your own character that you made up and aren't found on any Video Game. Usually, the fansprites are also cheap edits. We don't care for your own character.
  • One example would be making a Super Saiyajin Mario. Obviously, we're not accepting that, as Mario doesn't go Super Saiyajin at all and doesn't even fit with the Mario World theme. + He has no bigass shotgun and a hook.
  • The only time you can have a Fansprite is inside your credit tag and/or if you're a tSR Top Spriter.
4 - Edits & Customs
  • Edits are very much allowed, as long as you put effort into them and if they're not Minor edits.
  • Customs require quite a bit of skill and practice, so don't submit your first few attempts at custom spriting.
  • We do have tutorials on tSR. However, we STRONGLY suggest going to the Sprite Discussion Forum first to gather opinions and tips on how to improve. Seriously, you need ACTUAL critique before submitting. Go to the Sprite Discussion baord here before you submit. If they don't like it, it ain't going to be accepted.
5 - Organize your sheets
  • Mainly, keep the sprites in order, instead of jumbled up. And no large gaps between them, either. Keep a small, but reasonable amount of space between the sprites.
Also, we would REALLY appreciate if you named your file names CORRECTLY to help us out.
  • For a sheet; gamename-sheetcontent.png/gif
    For an icon; gamename-sheetcontent_icon.png/gif
    Example: chronotrigger-crono.png
That would mean the sheet of Crono goes into the Square section, under the game Chrono Trigger.
6 - How do I make icons?
  • There is an icon maker in the downloads section, and with it you should also be able to find the icons in their own image if you can not run Java files from your computer.
7 - 3-D Models?
  • ...Won't be accepted. With the exception of SNES 3-D SPRITES (Star Fox, for ex), it's IMPOSSIBLE to completely rip a 3-D Model. The thing with 3-D is there's almost infinty camera poses and distances for them, so no submitting 3-D Models from GCN, N64, PSX or whatever. However, you CAN submit the actual 2-D parts of the game (Ex: Mario's Health Bar on SM64.)
  • And before someone tries the whole "Donkey Kong Country was 3-D!!!" excuse, it wasn't really 3-D. The sprites were pre-rendered, meaning they're actually sprites, just with a good number of frames/animations taken from poses made out of a 3D model. We do also accept texture rips.
...HOWEVER, this rule may be excepted, but only on certain conditions.

Any staff member is will delete a sprite sheet if he or she desires. You cannot go against any judgement for the removal of your sprite sheet.
