The stance is great.
It also looks a lot like a pre-rendered 3d sprite. While that's a compliment, it's wouldn't fit the style.
Needs more hueshift. Also, his sword could stand to be shinier, and his visor, too.

If you don't mind, I'd like to edit it right quick.

The transition from shirt to pants is is really weird. The shading and shirt need to be altered to fix it.

If you could reduce the color choice, so that the shoes, gloves, and collar (and maybe even helmet, if that is manageable) all share one set of colors, it would make it a lot simpler, and match more.

I tried to mess with the face some and I split the jacket. The helmet needs the dark lines, but I don't like mine much.

The palette is atrocious, sorry to say. It should contrast in a cartoony way, not all blend together.
