Do you own that game? TOO BAD.
People says it is SEGA's worst crap ever.
To celebrate Sonic's 15th Anniversary, SEGA Decided to "Port"
The First Sonic the Hedgehog Game into GameBoy Advance. BUT SEGA FAILED MUCH. As a result we have Songs that sound like Windows Crap GM Midi. Oh, Options in the menu, we have:
Original Mode - Play Sonic 1 Normally
Anniversary Mode - Doesn't change NOTHING. Just adds the SpinDash Feature.
Options - Turn Sound Effects or Music On/Off
Jukebox - Just a sound Test. To unlock Sound FX You must beat
Original mode, to unlock Background Music, beat the Anniversary mode.
ORRIGHT, Now on to the gameplay.
The Game is cropped and it shows More sonic than the other scenery.
Making it difficult to look further. An annoying "feature" If you find a place with a long run to it, You run, but keep holding the D-Pad. Just a little before you reach the end (until you stop because something solid is blocking the way) release the D-Pad, And then... WTF. Sonic is still walking. Walking too Much. And you're not holding D-Pad. What an absurd. There's a bug in Star Light Zone. Be sure to find out what is it. Another thing. Title Cards are pprreettttyy ssllooww, When you see the text, Green Hill Zone, act 1 appear, you will see that they move too slow, comparing to the original game, the text appear extremely fast.
It's not worth a cent in buying this game. Buy Sonic Advance or another game. If you really want a GOOD GBA Port of Sonic 1, Check THIS
Out. It's a REAL GBA Port of Sonic 1 Made by Holy Stealth. A Master of Massive Sonic Hacking in which did Knuckles in Sonic 1 Hack. It's not complete though, But you can see the progress of it. Hold L and press start on the title screen to see how Labyrinth Zone is going. Hold A + Start to play as Tails, and B + Start to play as Knuckles. If SEGA see that Port by Stealth, I hope they get ashamed.
And that's my review to Sonic the Hedgehog GENESIS For GBA.
