i'm trying to make a painting of my character in this pose:
but I want his back to say "Rad" or maybe "Radical"

can anyone help me with the translation?

google translate gave me "ラド" for "rad", but i'm unsure if that is correct

That's good for rad, but if you want to use radical, you can use either ラジカル or ラディカル.

Doofenshmirtz: This is a little bit awkward but have you seen my escape jet keys? (Perry nods) What, you have? Well that's great! So where are they? (Perry looks away) You won't tell me? Is this because you don't speak or are you just being a jerk?

RE: Help with Japanese translation (sorta)
I have an idea for that, instead of using katakana for "radical", you could use kanji that together, sounds like "rado". For example, japanese Contra´s title is written with kanjis, but is read "contora". The actual meaning doesn't make sense, though; it focuses only the sound it produces.

you could use a similar technique and choose cool-looking letters that together, sounds like "rad".

Your jealousy is the speed of my success.

Why does he look so awkwardly similar to Demise from TLOZ: Skyward Sword?

RE: Help with Japanese translation (sorta)
how have you never seen akuma before >>; that comparison should be the other way around

also why are you guys all such freakin weeaboos, there's words in japan so you don't have to use "rado"

I assume you mean "radical" as in "totally awesome" or "sweet"

it original use was in anime, the word "kakkoii" is basically "cool" as in an extremely suave character ("stylin", handsome), but can also be likened to "Badass!" or "So awesome!"
it's basically the male version of "kawaii". so yeah,

格好良いね~ - kakkoii ne~ - He's so cool~! / How dreamy~ (japanese schoolgirl daydreaming about boy, lets out a hearty sigh)
格好良い でしょう? - kakkoii deshou? - he's cool, don't you think?

the kanji that make up "kakkoii" mean "good, pleasing, character". fricken use that.

as an alternative, there's also the weeaboo word "sugoi" 凄い
but not many people know that if you use only the 凄 character, it means "horrible", "weird", or "threatening"
so you probably don't want to use that unless you have an evil side that's a lecherous pervert

honestly though, if i were you i'd just plain make it "RAD" in asian brush lettering and then no one can misinterpret it lol

Kakkoii is generally written as hiragana like this: "かっこいい" or katakana like this "カッコイイ", because it's a contraction and a slang

The more you know, I always found that word to be a bit.. fishy.

If you want to go for the alternative, then it's "waru" ワル. I know, I know, but the word DOES have two uses.. And the latter is not as perverted as sugoi, but it's also associated with a certain greedy bastard, and not -as- dirty as some of the words suggested here.

RE: Help with Japanese translation (sorta)
i didn't want to use sugoi or kakui (or however it's spelled) because "Rad" is his name.
i'll probably just go with "Rado" because it's a comedy comic anyway haha
