Where did you get your username from?

Tom Guycot is the first "boss" of Clash at Demonhead, fought for 2 seconds right in the first route. It's a game I love, so I thought I'd make a username on what was (at the time) an incredibly obscure reference. I forgot whether Guycot had one T or two, but in the end I don't care that much, plus I can be considered the foreign knockoff of the original, appearing on unlicensed t-shirts and lunchboxes.

The story about Tom Guycot is more exciting than the story behind me picking the name: he tells you he'll be waiting for you at his Desert Fortress on Route 33, and then the whole came every boss talks him up like he's the baddest mofo ever. But every time you GO to Route 33, there's a skeleton in sunglasses that looks suspiciously LIKE Tom Guycot telling you that he's out, and once you release the Demon Tom Guycot gets mortally wounded and is never seen again. Video gaming blue balls.

Mine's got two origins, oddly! First I nicked Raikoh_Minamoto from Minamoto no Raiko, a legendary samurai. Got shortened to Raikoh after a while, and later to Rai.

Later, I ended up hanging out with a couple Korean girls at an amusement park, and when talking about music, I brought up the Serj Tankian song "Lie Lie Lie."

She started singing it, so I took up the name RaiRaiRai.

That got shortened to Rai^3, and later again to Rai.

Original username origin:
I played XBox LIVE for a very long time. Back when I started off, my username was mariobros001. That was a compensation because my brother was to share the account with me.

Of course, we both split off (he got his own account, deserthawk111), so I kept the mariobros username. Eventually, a friend of mine tried to make a massive clan called "Born to Kill", and all of us pretagged our usernames with "oB2Ko" to show our support.

Of course, the clan dies a while after, what with lack of activity as well as friends dropping the tag for other clantags (they actually went over to xFAx and changed their pretag to that). I didn't want to shell out another 800 points to go with the new clantag, so I was henceforth stuck with "oB2Ko Mario" as a username.

Then I pretty much began to use it for everything I do on the internet.





Then I read "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" and fell in love with it enough to rename myself to Rosencrantz. I pretty much went on a complete tangent from my original username, heh.

[BullockDS]

"BullockDS" is my last name followed by my first two initials (Dillon Seamus). At least it's somewhat original unlike my older usernames.

Frogs are my favorite animal and I knew someone from the Ukraine, and they told me that "Zada" meant frog, and it is actually spelled (well, converted to) "Xada", but by then I was using it everywhere and didn't care enough to change it. And Ben is my name, so there you go, Zadaben.

I got started with a megaman edit on the Zephiroth X forums. But around the time Psyguy got popular I switched to a sonic character. I saw Belial in the Bible, referring to the devil or a demon, never quite clear on which, so I named it that. Started tagging my sprite rips with that name afterwards.

Many years ago, I came up with Rapidkirby3k after playing 1P Mode as Kirby in the original Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64. This was probably due to beating the game in a very fast manner.

Eeeeehhh.. I doubt anyone remembers my old handle from pixeltendo, and before I settled on "Gaia" I've been burnin' through handles like crazy. I can't even remember them all, but I was a purple MegaMan X recolor on MFZ ACT 4, Which sorta improved until I hit BooMansion (another neighboring site), grabbed yet another OC which was a multicolored hammerbro (Red, Green, Blue). I didin't settle for the robot until I entered Deviantart around 2007 and used the userhandle GaiaX2. I then got reckless which then became history. (remember the monkey OC at Pixeltendo? Yeah, that was me!) Afterwards I just was GaiaX(random number). Once I got a bit more active again I shaved off that and there ya go.

oh my god I'm really really glad I wasn't the only one who had this problem.

Only reason why I got Strasteo's name right now was because I was putting him into my sig to thank him for the new avvy love (sorry man :C)

and I would have kept reading Zadaben as Zabaden if you had not mentioned that.

I never set on a username. One never stuck with me becasue I felt like I grew out of them (Link the Hedgehog doesn't make me look good outside of Sonic fan forums and ever since then I kind of just made them up with every new account/switch/etc)

Of course the name changing feature on TSR has to be my favorite thing ever since I never stick with a username for anything anyways

I usually go by just Chad on any forums/sites/etc where I'm "well known"

My other frequently used names are im9today which I totally jacked from an artist I admired, LOVEKREWz0r which is the name of an old internet gang I was in *tough guy glasses* with "z0r" tacked on the end, and also icarly_viewer, which is just a funny name, so I used it.

Another name I use often is Goodgoose, which was the name of my FFXI character. A friend and I wanted to make Galka characters and they typically have names such as "Iron Ant" or "Stalking Deer," stuff like that. So I came up with "Good Goose" for mine, and my friend was "Goose Juice" (Goosejuice) because we're just funny guys like that. We have a linkshell (FFXI's version of a guild) called the Goosetroops and would often shout "THE GOOSE IS LOOOOOOSE" in zones. We never really made Galka's though, we ended up being Hume females but the names stuck.

Hmm, well.
Back in the early days of the Gamecube, I wanted a cool, catchy thing to put as my file name, so I thought of the name "SHADE". That's sorta stuck for awhile there. It didn't change to SHADEDBZ until I joined TSR. While I originally wanted to make my username SHADE, it was already taken. So I added my favorite show's abbreviation to my name and there it was. Just recently I removed most of the capital letters in my name, and changed it to a more professional looking username, so I changed it from SHADEDBZ to ShadeDBZ.
