RE: A computer problem.
It's a Lenovo Thinkpad by Intel Centrino Duo
Under the settings there are several options,
Config, Date/Time, Security, Startup, Restart, and HDD diagnostic program. Which one of these would contain anything pertaining to SMART? I've looked through all of them and cannot find it.
---------------------
I googled some stuff about SMART, and I got the general impression that it is something on the hard drive? Is that correct? In that case I dont think I can turn it off becuase I cannot acess the hard drive.

S.M.A.R.T would be HDD Diagnostics.

I need the specific model of your computer (as in, the model number itself)
Lenovo Thinkpad is just the type of computer; I need the specific one

Look at the stickers on the bottom or something, you'll find it.

Here is a number sequence that I found on the bottom.
80045-408-442-619
The only options under HDD Diagnostics are selcting the Main Hard drive disk or the Ultrabay hard drive disk, both come up with a screen saying that they are not found when I select them.

You could do two things to help us out here;

You could go on to the lenovo website and pick out your exact laptop and post us a link to the product page so that we can grab the manual/technical docs to fix it

OR

take a photograph of the bottom and the front of the laptop (with the lid open) and post it to myself or vipershark, we'll get the model number and post it for the rest of the community to help.

Absolutely perfect, I'll have a look through the docs for you and see what I can find!

RE: A computer problem.
Okay, the hard drive was burnt out like Kosheh said, but my uncle (The one who gave us the computer) gave us a new hard drive for it!
Issue solved, thank you so much everybody! Smile
--------------------------------
EDIT: My uncle says this one is old and may not last very long.
