Hey guys! Thanks for coming to look at this. The name of my pictures are labeled, and under the spoiler tag the description. Big pictures will have a secondary spoiler tag to hide them. Newest pictures will be UP HERE AT TOP. Older ones will be more towards the bottom.

This is my FIRST try at fog... It is MUCH too dotty, but I'm working on it! New and all... But I'm determined.
Improvement from the old picture... The lines are less messy (in my opinion, anyways) and there are no extra pixels outside the outline of the cat. The shading and lighting on the cat makes a bit more sense, as well. There is also actually a background.

I used Photoshop cs4 to do this, and only that. There is no speedpaint but my DeviantART account, Ivyleaf1212, has this along with other images.
I'm quite proud of it

The words come from lyrics to the opening of Clannad.

The cat does have shading, however it's my first pic with shading and it's kind of abstract when it comes to that.

There's no other word for this other than mediocre.

It's straight gradient black to white, the worst of gradients.

There is no sense of texture for the fur, making it look bland and boring.


The lines are extremely messy, and there are some white outlines on the side of it from poor use of the selection tools in photoshop.

The font isn't that great, and you smeared words all over the canvas.
The words are too much of a subject and are not placed for an effect, but rather placed because you found the space for them and only for that reason.
The cat just does not stand out, due to lack of contrast and simplicity combined.

The feather could use a lot more work,
or just get removed.
As it doesn't need to be there at all.

You could stretch the "faint voice" part can be represented by a feather,
but what does that have to do with a cat?
If the subject was a bird, sure.

But the 2 subjects don't go together and otherwise clash together.

The picture is oldish, actually... Let me check when I made this... Um...
Argh, not on the right computer. Until I can find out later I'm going to estimate 2 months ago. It's just because on DeviantART I got no feedback and I wasn't sure what to do with it.
I do not plan to remake this, but I have gotten a lot better at feathers, and I can use the selection tool properly now without the extra white pixels outside the lines.
I am also minimizing my urge for words.
I will continue to work on my texture and shading, as well as straightening my lines.

You'd be able to make a better use of the thread with posting something more recent you'd be willing to redo or edit for a higher level of quality at this point.

You posted the image for feedback, and now knowing you will most likely get feedback, it can help you in the future.
