Hey everyone! Enjoy my Skyward Sword Rips.Big Grin

Thanks to a DMCA, MediaFire removed a bunch of my files from this game. So I moved what I could over to min.us.

Tutorial (Click to View)

------------------------Dolphin------------------------
  • Once you have Dolphin downloaded, open the EXE.
  • Click the Config tab at the top.
  • In the new window goto Paths, and click "Add...".
  • Locate your ISO directory, then click OK.
  • Now Dolphin will load all available ISO in that folder that work with Dolphin.
  • Locate "Skyward Sword" and right click on it. Goto Properties and inside the new window click on Filesystem.
  • Next search for the folder called "Stage". Right click on it and choose the option "Extract Directory...".
  • Choose a folder to extract to and press OK.
  • There's also another file in the game that has a few other things in it. It's located under "Object" and it's called "ObjectPack.arc.LZ".
  • Once done you can close Dolphin.

------------------------Puyo Tools------------------------
  • Open Puyo Tools and click the tab that reads "Compression>Decompress>Select Directory".
  • Navigate to the folder that you saved "Stage" in. While "Stage" is highlighted click OK.
  • A window will ask you if you want to include files in subdirectories. Choose "Yes".
  • One more window will popup. Check the box that reads "Output file to same directory as source" then click "Decompress".
  • Now you are done with Puyo Tools, so you can close it.

------------------------Brres Viewer------------------------
  • Open Brres Viewer and goto "File>Open Files". Now locate the files you extracted earlier and click open.
  • Now you may see a long list of files. You can choose to view them before converting them if you want.
  • Now Go to "File>Export All Files...".
  • A window will show up. Where it says "TGA" change that to PNG.
    Where it says "Models" change that to MD5 or PSK if MD5 fails to export a proper model. Then press OK.
  • Now you are done with Brres Viewer, so go ahead and close it.

------------------------Noesis------------------------
  • Now if you don't have a program that can open or convert MD5/PSK, then open Noesis.
  • Now you probably see a list of folders on the left side of the window. Browse through there and locate the folder that contains the MD5/PSK files you created earlier.
  • Noesis will load up all of the files in the folder and you can view these if you wish.
  • Now goto "Tools>Batch process". In the "Input extention:" type md5 or psk. In the "output extension:" type dae. For "Additional parameters:" type -flipuv. Finally click "Folder batch", then press OK. Push OK again and once the program finishes close the popup window. Then click cancel on the "Batch Process".
  • Now you are done with Noesis. So you can close that.

Yeah, I was having a hard time getting the alpha channel to work.Tongue
I'll fix it in a bit or tomorrow, so I don't scare everyone away.

Here's the files You will need.
Models
SZS Modifier
Brres viewer
Noesis

Instructions (Click to View)
1. Open SZS. Then go to file>open. Change "Files of type:" to "All Files". Locate the ObjectPack.arc and open it.

2. Expand the subtrees. Left click a file and then right click on it. In the popup menu select Export Raw Data. In the new popup window, choose a location for the file, then save it as ??.brres.

3. Now You can close SZS and open Brres viewer. Go to File> Open Files. Now open the .brres You saved earlier. After the file loads in Brres viewer You can go File>Export All Files. Change texture to png. Choose if You want to separate the files by type and if You want to Create one folder for each Brres file. And then save as a .psk or .md5.

4. Now You can close Brres viewer and Open Noesis. Once in Noesis go to File>Open File and find Your .psk or .md5. After that go to File>Export. Choose the Main output file type, the additional texture output. Set Flip UV so that the textures show up correctly in a 3D modeling program. Then press OK.

5. Now You can open the model in any 3D modeling program You want.

Optional. If You export a .dae, You can open it in Notepad++.
Look for a section that looks something like this:

<init_from>./Rupee.0</init_from>
</image>
</library_images>

In this case remove the ./ and add .png after Rupee.0. Doe that will make the textures be applied in modeling programs.

Next search for:

Code Wrote:<shininess>
<float>0</float>
</shininess>

Change the 0 to 50. This may show up a few times. It depends on how many textures are on the model. Doing this will remove the bright white color from the model in at least Blender.

That's all the steps. Big Grin

And just so You know. I'm already working on Princess Zelda.

Does it Use BMD?
I love this format, can extract textures, models, see animations...

Anyway, can't rip, don't have the game yet
EDIT: I hate SZS Modifier, it is really glitchy. So I use Consoletools, a program that was made specifically for open DS games, but, I can open many files, such from Wii, DS, Gamecube and any more others.

I also use Arcpack, good German Program. Kinda hard to find, if you want, I can encrypt
