RE: Texture Ripping Programs
Well the thing is, there are a whole bunch of options in the drop down and I don't know which one to use.

And the other main problem is that, I left it to dump for a few seconds and it didn't dump what I wanted. See this red bouncing enemy? I want its textures, but it keeps dumping little pieces and Bomberman's textures and I don't want his yet. I don't know what to do...

The red guy seems to be a 2D Sphere, with 2D eyes and possibly 3D diamond-things on its sides?

...

...Oh. Its head is a 2D graphic isn't it. Blank

Well, I guess my question of which option to use still stands though, since it all looks confusing.

EDIT: Oh, and how do I change the directory of where the textures are saved? They keep going in my C drive...

Question. what are the mechanics of the Dolphin texture dump procedure? I wish to know what format the textures come out as, as well as needing to know what is needed to convert said texture formats to a format that is compatible with my macbook.

RE: Texture Ripping Programs
They all come out as .PNG. It dumps everything that is currently loaded (so say you wanted to rip a certain character's textures, you would have to play to that point in the game where they appear).
I don't know anything about Mac though...

Thanks for the info jetters! I would be more interested in level and creature textures though. thankfully mac preview supports .png files, but I am still trying to get the mac version of dolphin to work. Also do the textures go to some folder somewhere in the application support section of dolphin or something?

RE: Texture Ripping Programs
I forgot that you also have to make sure that texture dumping is enabled in the emulator settings (to do this, go to "Options > Graphics Settings" and then click the "Advanced" tab on the top-right, and under "Utility", make sure that the "Dump Textures" box is checked).
After that, once the ISO loads, it should dump whatever first appears on the screen.
Then to see them, go in the folder where you put Dolphin, look in "User > Dump > Textures" and you should see a new folder with some .PNG files.
What makes it so convenient is that it creates a new, different folder for each game you dump textures for! That way, you won't have, say, Tales of Symphonia textures and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! textures all mixed up in one folder. Tongue
Hope that helps!

Hey, Where's umodel? It can extract textures and models fine from most Unreal Engine games.

That was quite informative jetters! Thank you for the help!

Also, what would be needed to get sounds right out of a game that uses dolphin?

For sounds, it kind of varies I think...
In the ISO files, there will be one (or even multiple) .BRSAR file(s) that contain all the sounds from Wii games that can be found in a folder labeled "sound" or somesuch (I'm not sure what format GameCube used... maybe .BRSTM?) and you will need a tool to extract the .BRSAR(s) to get the .WAVs or whatever format the sound is in (.WAV should be most common) out. I don't think there are many programs that can do this, so you would probably have to search for "how to extract brsar", "brsar file format" or something similar and see what you find.
I know that BrawlBox can extract .BRSARs from some games, but it doesn't work for everything.
Give those things a try and see what luck you have. Unfortunately I don't really know anything else about Wii/GC sound ripping. Sad

RE: Texture Ripping Programs
I believe the gamecube used 2 different files and formats for the midi's and the sampled music or something similar to that. Sound formats differ though. SA2B as an example has the ADX soundsystem which is cracked Tongue The file formats vary and you'll have to have some luck if you can convert them.
