RE: New stages
I've got a stage idea, Shinjuku Rooftop. Based on the first (or is it second?) level in Sin & Punishment.

Here's a basic glimpse of what the layout would look like.
http://i27.tinypic.com/29w386d.jpg

There are tall walls on either side of the stage, making it hard to kill off the sides of the stage, but there's still straight up and the two pits on either side of the stage. Stage hazards would include Radan (no, not the Godzilla monster, Rodan) popping up int the background and firing a laser across the stage, or Kachua appearing and tossing ruffians or scrap metal at you.

You can see the location itself near the end of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbAGE56_HGc

RE: New stages
How about Rougeport from Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door (Specifically the main part where the inn and badge shop is)?

You could have the noose stand thing on the foreground as a platform or sorts and have the rest of Rougeport in the background

As for songs that would play during the stage (if I should move it to the music thread, let me know) you could have the Rougeport theme play of course but another song FTW would be Mr. L's theme

Although I wasn't really a fan of the game itself, I actually like this stage idea.

Also the airship stage with the koopaling battle room and such.

I support the idea of an Airship/Doomship level. Its iconic and memorable. However that pipe into the room might be difficult for us to handle.

RE: New stages
No offense but 95% of this topic is Mario stages, can we get some variance up in this piece? Mario's already got a lot of level support.

I was thinking of how the Tanker or the Plant would work as a playable level (MGS2); the Tanker would simply be the ship, but occasionally Metal Gear RAY could jump out and attack the ship, just like in the cutscene where Ocelot sinks the tanker.

The Plant could function similarly, but inbetween the Plant level, the entire Big Shell (which is what you're fighting on) would fall apart and the fight would continue on the top of Arsenal Gear.

RE: New stages
Do stage ideas need to be based on franchises that have characters in Smash Bros.? If not, back before Brawl came out, I had an idea for an Advance Wars stage (Cosmo Land(?)) I thought might be cool.

You'd fight on top of the vehicles as they moved across the terrain and occasionally engaged in combat, and the time of day would change sometimes, and maybe even the vehicles (For example, the land vehicles might drive into a harbor and you'd have to jump on a boat as it pulled out into the ocean. Various things would happen in the background and foreground, (it is a warzone) etc.

[Image: AWSmashScreen.png] -> [Image: AWSmashScreen4.png]

It might be too complicated, but I thought I might as well put it out there.

RE: New stages
You know that's a good idea to have stages based on franchises that don't have playable characters.

There are plenty of great series out there that don't really have a good enough character but have great locations.

RE: New stages
There was only 4 Mario Stages mentioned so far, Tyvon. It only seemed like a lot cause most of the posts were about the airship stage. Plus, we'd have to sprite all existing Smash stages anyway, so why the hell not come up with new stages? Ton's character list as 6 Mario characters on it. I think giving the Mario franchise the most stages only makes sense.

Also, I support the Advance Wars stage though idk if we could handle it lol.

For Pokemon, I think Viridian Forest would be a cool stage. It's a specific location, but it's a location I'm sure everybody who played Red/Blue/Yellow remembers. You could fight on the ground and trees and if you mess with the trees enough, Beedrills come out and attack you.

Star Fox needs something on Dinosaur Planet but idk what.

Donkey Kong should have a stage based on Gangplank Galleon. This stage should have been in Brawl but wasn't and I was sad.

A casino themed Sonic stage would be cool. There's been so many Casino levels in Sonic games, makes sense.

Supporting Sonic Casino stage.

Also for an original stage idea I put forth; Pyoro.
Platform is a row of destructable bricks. The longer you play the more the background fills in, like how it does the more points you get in the game. The occasional fruit falls down and hurts anybody it hits and damages/destroys the bricks. Occasionally there could be a huge shower of fruit, and if a plater catches the white fruit or flashing fruit it restores one or all the bricks respectively. (white restores one and flashing restores them all) There would likely have to be some sort of other platforms that didn't break though and the destructable bricks should probably come back by themselves eventually. And if the players hit the fruit then it would dissapear or fall as a food item / throwing item?
I dunno, just throwing a random idea out. :\

I support Doomship, Advance Wars, and Sonic Casino stages.

Gangplank Galleon would be good, but we just had a pirate stage in SSB.

You should add Luigi's Thunderhand to Mario attack.

Actually, I like that one too. I just forgot to mention it. Would you mind sketching it out?

Sure. Here's a pretty vauge and comically bad sketch of Rougeport:

Like I stated the foreground consists of that noose stand whilst the rest of Rougeport is in the background
