just found this site by accident and wanted to share some stuff Smile

Long time ago I discovered how to extract every single 2d graphic out of suikoden 2. I used the chinese pc port for this, the files were not compressed just renamed and ripped them with a file ripper called "jaeder naub".

I have uploaded all the files ripped here: http://ul.to/n0r3m3sa the .rar file is ca. 128 mb in size

tried to sort them but got bored of it. But most stuff is already sorted out Smile just like I said, it contains all 2d graphics, chipsets, battle animations, character sprites, faces etc Smile

hope it helps you guys

wish I would have all suiko 1 graphics though, was not able to rip them from the PC version yet Sad

Sorry about the font on the Dragon Knights. I'm not sure why I was using that. I also thought I had corrected the background around Thrash, but...I was sort of stoned on pain killers last night, so I guess I didn't. Embarassed Oh, and sorry about the black dots, too. Sometimes it's hard for me to find all the places where the background is.
Thanks for fixing those up. Smile And those icons looked great, especially the NPC one; it was really eye-catching. Big Grin

Anyway, here are most of the sprites added into Dazz's character sheets. On some of these--mostly the ones where I only added the single sprite from Teo's toast--I didn't add in any credit for me, 'cause there really wasn't room, and it's not like I did much. Hope that's okay.

So we'll start with the servants (and guest) of the McDohl household.

And then we have the death of Milich at Scarleticia.

I may have a few more sprites not represented in the current files; there are a lot of sprites I ripped and gave file names like "was this in the sheet" 'cause I couldn't remember if they were there or not. Probably they were, but...I might come across one or two more that were overlooked. I'll post those, too, if there are any.

Hmm, looking at these in the post preview, something looks a little off, but maybe that's just due to the forum setting. Everything seemed okay in the previous batch, color-wise, and I did the same things this time, so it should be okay...

You shoud take your time and sort the duplicates out, there are still many of them. Plus, if you delete all the unneccessary browse/thumbs-files, the file would be smaller than 100 MB.

But hey, great job so far.

sorry, didn`t intend to hijack the thread. I`m not really a sprite ripper, i`m more like a game file format hacker/cracker. This was like I said a really easy task. About the filesize yeah you`re right, like I said was bored by sorting the stuff, many of the duplicated can be easily deleted by sorting the files by filesize in windows explorer. By that way you will see the duplicates easily and can sort them out. Don`t intend to work more on this stuff sorry.. Also.. what are 28 mb more or less nowadays? Big Grin But yeah i get your point dude.

You guys did great work so far, I like the Suikoden series a lot and always dreamed of editing the sprites, then use them in a fan-made suiko game Smile that`s the reason while i tried to extract them from the suiko 2 pc version.. with success Smile

again sorry, just felt some guys over here could really use this package Wink

BTW, is it okay if I leave the color opening sprites as their own sheet, given how huge the sheets for the three leads already are? If so, should I add in the alternate, unused Riou sprite as well, or just ignore it or what?
